Looking to bend thicker materials or work on longer parts but not sure where to start? The US Industrial USHB200‑13 press brake is a game-changer for serious metalworkers. In this guide, we’ll show you how this 200-ton powerhouse operates, why it’s in high demand, and what kind of projects real users are tackling with it. As always, Sterling Machinery—serving the industry since 1954—is here to help you get the right machine for your job.
When to Use a US Industrial Press Brake
The USHB200‑13 is built for jobs that require extra force and capacity. Here are some real-world examples of when this machine is the perfect fit:
-
Thick plate forming – Great for bending 1/4″ or thicker steel panels over long lengths.
-
Industrial trailer frames – Easily forms brackets and reinforcement components for structural use.
-
Farm and ranch equipment – Create parts for plows, gates, troughs, and other heavy-duty implements.

Know the Parts of a USHB200‑13
Before starting, it’s important to understand the core components that make this machine both powerful and precise:
-
CNC 2-Axis Color Graphic Control – Stores and runs complex bend sequences with touchscreen programming.
-
CNC Controlled Mechanical Auto Crowning – Automatically compensates for deflection during long bends to ensure uniformity.
-
Massive Torsion Bar System – Maintains ram parallelism, even under heavy load.
-
Mechanical Ram Depth Control – Lets you fine-tune bend angles down to the degree.
-
Three-Speed Hydraulic Ram – Offers rapid approach, controlled bending, and fast return cycles.
-
Ram Deflection Adjustment – Enhances accuracy during high-tonnage applications.
-
Two 24” Front Support Arms – Provides essential support for large, heavy material during loading and bending.
-
Free Gooseneck Punch & Multi-Opening Die – Included tooling allows you to start forming 90° bends in 10-gauge mild steel right out of the crate.

Use a USHB200‑13 in 5 Steps
1. Take Proper Safety Precautions
Wear proper PPE including gloves, eye protection, and steel-toed boots. Confirm light curtain systems and emergency stops are working before operation. Position your support arms and have materials and tooling prepped.
2. Load Tooling and Set Up the Ram
Install the standard American-style punch and die. Adjust ram depth using the mechanical controls and set crowning as needed. Make sure the punch and die are properly clamped with no misalignment.
3. Program the CNC Sequence
Enter your bend angles, back-gauge positioning, and ram settings on the color graphic interface. You can store multi-step sequences for recurring jobs or switch to manual mode for one-off bends.
4. Perform a Test Bend and Adjust
Use a scrap piece to test your bend. Adjust ram dwell time, depth, and crowning settings as necessary. Even with automatic crowning, you may want to fine-tune for specialty materials or thicknesses.
5. Run Full Production
With everything dialed in, start your production run. The 200-ton capacity and 13′ bed length allow you to handle large and heavy jobs with excellent consistency. Use the front support arms to maintain material control and reduce fatigue.
Why US Industrial is in High Demand
The USHB200‑13 is more than just powerful—it’s smart and well-designed. Here’s why it’s sought after:
-
Heavy-duty build quality – All-steel construction and forged components make it incredibly reliable.
-
Advanced features at a great value – Auto crowning, CNC graphics, and included tooling set it apart from competitors.
-
Flexible control – Can be run in inching, single cycle, or continuous modes depending on the job.
-
In-stock rarity – Due to their popularity, these machines often sell out quickly and may require special ordering.
What People Are Making Right Now
Fabricators are using the USHB200‑13 for:
-
Steel container frames – Perfect for long, reinforced box shapes.
-
Custom trailer bed frames – Heavy-duty and high-precision bending for vehicle platforms.
