What does a waterjet do better than laser or plasma?
Waterjet cutting produces no heat, so materials don’t melt or warp. You can cut metals, plastics, stone, glass, rubber, wood, and composites with excellent edge quality—often eliminating secondary finishing.
What accuracy can I expect?
Modern abrasive waterjets can achieve tight tolerances (as fine as ±0.005" on appropriate setups) and deliver a clean, satin-smooth edge.
Which features matter most when choosing?
Pump output (pressure/HP), table size, axis capability (2D vs. 3D/5-axis), abrasive feed (hopper/monitoring), controls & software, and local service/parts support. Proper programming and daily maintenance are key.
What materials can a waterjet cut?
